HANNIBAL, Mo. — In its second day as in many days, Hannibal girls basketball returned to Korf Gymnasium to face Class 3 No. 2 ranked Centralia on Tuesday night.

It was a tough matchup for the Lady Pirates, who fell to Centralia 71-31.

The Lady Panthers took a 17-6 lead by the end of the first quarter with the help of seven points from junior guard Ryenn Gordon.

Centralia sophomore guard Ealynne Bostick heated up in the second quarter by knocking down three 3-pointers, with Centralia taking a a 35-11 lead to halftime.

Hannibal performed better in the second half, with senior guard Malia Stolte scoring 15 of her game-high 20 points in the final two quarters.

Lady Pirates freshman Alia Page scored five points, while sophomore Salena Thompson finished with four points.

Bostick led Centralia in scoring with 16 points, while Gordon racked up 15 points and senior forward Braylin Brunkhorst pitched in 13 points. Senior guard Madi Johnson added eight points and sophomore guard Liv Hartley ended her night with seven points.

Up next for Hannibal (4-6) is a home game against North Central Missouri Conference rival Kirksville (10-2) at 5 p.m. on Friday.
