It’s been an uneven season for Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo, especially after suffering a foot injury in early November.

Though Adebayo is coming off one of his best games of the season against the Phoenix Suns. In the Heat’s six-point win, Adebayo scored a game-high 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting with nine boards, two steals and one block in 32 minutes.

But the three-time All-Star accomplished a bigger feat: Moving to No. 2 on the team’s all-time scoring list, passing Alonzo Mourning.

Currently at 9,461 points, the Heat’s 10-year vet has a long way before he passes the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. Adebayo would have to double his current number, plus score at least another 2,500 points before even entering the conversation.

All records are meant to be broken, but in all likelihood, it will be a very long time before any Heat player sniffs Wade.

Dwyane Wade — 21,556 points

Bam Adebayo — 9,461

Alonzo Mourning — 9,459

Glen Rice — 9,428

LeBron James — 7,919

For his career, Adebayo is averaging 15.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He’s shooting 53.1 percent, 31.9 percent from 3-point range and 75.6 percent from the free-throw line. After his amazing two-way effort against Phoenix, he’s up to 15.6 points on 54.7 percent true shooting, a career low.

However, it’s still very cool that Adebayo — not considered a “great” offensive player, per se — has risen up leaderboards over his career. Truthfully, it feels like we were hearing his name called on draft night yesterday. Maybe that’s just me. Nevertheless, the Heat captain continues to etch himself into Heat lore.

Miami will continue its three-game homestand against the Boston Celtics Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. EST.
