After never trailing on the way to a wire-to-wire victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, things got off to a different start for the Golden State Warriors on Thursday with the New York Knicks in town.

Within the first three minutes of the game, the Warriors found themselves in a 10-point deficit. As the Warriors started the game cold, the Knicks took advantage, stretching their early lead to 14 points.

After falling flat early in the first quarter, the Warriors began to wake up. Before the start of the second quarter, the Warriors trimmed the Knicks’ early advantage down to only five. In the first quarter, Moses Moody tallied nine points on a perfect three of three from beyond the arc.

Moody stayed perfect in the first half, knocking down another three-pointer in the second quarter. Brandin Podziemski added 10 points off the bench on 4-of-5 shooting in the second quarter as the Warriors were able to steal back the lead before halftime, 62-59.

In the second half, the Warriors were able to create some separation, leading by as many as 17 points. However, the Knicks were able to hang around, cutting Golden State’s advantage down to single figures in the fourth quarter.

In the final frame, Butler and Podziemski each notched nine points to fend off the Knicks’ late comeback attempt on the way to a 126-113 win on Thursday night.

After a quiet scoring night against the Blazers, Stephen Curry bounced back with 27 points on 10-of-17 with four made 3-pointers to go along with seven assists and three boards.

Moody finished the game with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field with a red-hot seven made 3-pointers. Podziemski added 19 points on an efficient 8-of-9 shooting from the field with five boards, two assists and two steals in 26 minutes off the bench on Thursday night against the Knicks.

With a win over the Knicks, the Warriors have moved to 4-1 on their eight game home stand. On Saturday, the Warriors will welcome the Charlotte Hornets to Chase Center.
