The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to convert forward Dominick Barlow’s two-way contract into a standard NBA contract in the coming weeks, according to a league source familiar with the team’s thinking.

The Sixers currently only have 14 players on their active roster, so a corresponding move won’t be necessary for the team to convert Barlow’s contract. If the Sixers ultimately decide they also want to convert Jabari Walker’s contract to a standard deal, they would need to open a roster spot in order to do so. Two-way players can play no more than 50 regular season games and aren’t eligible for postseason play.

Barlow went undrafted in 2022 and spent time with the San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks prior to signing with the Sixers last July. He impressed the coaching staff during training camp and quickly carved out a role for himself in Philadelphia.

In 29 games for the Sixers this season (26 starts), Barlow has posted averages of 8.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.4 minutes per performance.
