It is WILD that there is 40 games of college basketball on national television tomorrow, and even wilder that there would be more if not for the fact that CBS is carrying an NFL playoff game at 3:30 Central and Fox has one at 7pm Central. I remember when it was impressive that we were getting 30 games on national TV on a Saturday.

Even wilder? Only one of the 40 is a women’s basketball game, so the boom is more because of more television channels carrying games, not networks giving Saturday shine to the women’s game. Even extra wilder on that? The one women’s game is a Mountain West game where one team is 5-12 on the season. It’s not even a high profile women’s game! Weird!

18 of the 40 games on TV today have at least one ranked team involved. Three of those 18 are ranked on ranked games. First up is the biggest game in Nashville in a long time as #10 Vanderbilt — no, really — hosts #19 Florida at 1pm Central on ESPN. Later on, we get #17 Arkansas on the road against #21 Georgia on ESPN2, and in the evening hours, there’s #11 BYU at #15 Texas Tech in what is probably The Game Of The Day? Two top 15 teams, which the other two ranked on ranked games can’t say?

In the other 15 ranked team games, there’s a lot of ranked squads on the road, and a lot of those are top 10 teams, too. Check it out:

#8 Nebraska at Northwestern

#12 Michigan State at Washington

#14 North Carolina at Cal

#23 Utah State at Grand Canyon

Could be a BLOOD SATURDAY if the chips fall right.

As always, there’s a metric ton of Streaming Only options out there as well, including #2 Iowa State and #5 Purdue on the road (more top 10 on the road!) both on Peacock and #9 Gonzaga (more top 10 on the road!) traveling for a game that’s on ESPN+. There’s also four ranked women’s teams in action over on ESPN+ today, although your milage may vary in terms of how much danger any of them are in. PLUS: The Marquette women’s team is at home against Georgetown which is 1) in Milwaukee if you’re local or 2) on ESPN+ if you’re not.
