Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant is trending toward making a potential return against the Orlando Magic on Jan. 18 in London.
Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo told reporters on Jan. 17 that there’s a “good chance” Morant plays in the game at O2 Arena (11 a.m., Prime Video). Morant has missed the past six games while dealing with a right calf contusion.

Morant is listed as probable on the injury report, which is a positive sign. Memphis wants to make sure Morant feels comfortable with his calf before clearing him to play.
“There’s a good chance he plays,” Iisalo said. “He went through full practice today, and now we’ve just got to see how his body responds in the morning.”
The two-time All-Star has been the center of trade talks in recent days, with the Grizzlies deciding to listen to offers. This is the first time Memphis has explored trade opportunities for Morant in his seven seasons.
The Grizzlies (17-23) are 11th in the Western Conference. Morant has been available for 18 games. Memphis has a 6-12 record when Morant has played.
