Season series: Cleveland leads 2-0
Cleveland dominated Philadelphia 133-107 Wednesday while covering as a 1-point road underdog with the Over (236.5) cashing. Donovan Mitchell finished with 35 points and 9 assists, and Darius Garland scored 20 before leaving with a toe injury. The Cavs shot 20 for 46 (43%) from deep while holding the Sixers to just 12-of-43 (28%) shooting from long range in the win.
The Cavs also beat the Sixers 132-121 in the first matchup of this season on Nov. 5, though Philly covered as a 16.5-point road underdog and the Over (235.5) hit. Mitchell dropped 46 points and 2 other Cavs finished with more than 20 points in the win. In both matchups this season, the Cavs have shot better than 40% from deep and led in both paint points and fast-break points.

LEAN 76ERS (-140).
Both Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe played very inefficiently in what was just a bad offensive game all-around for Philly on Wednesday, and in the first matchup this season, there was no Joel Embiid or Paul George. Look for this fully healthy Sixers team to be able to find consistent scoring here to make this matchup look different than the first 2.
This is a lean because the Sixers haven’t had any answers defensively for what Cleveland has been doing this season, so that could continue to be a trend here.
PASS.
I lean toward the Sixers to cover here as -2.5 (-110) favorites, but I like their odds better on the safer bet on the moneyline, particularly the way Cleveland has outclassed undermanned Philly squads so far this season.
BET OVER 232.5 (-105).
The Over has hit in 7 of Philadelphia’s last 10 games, as well as in each of its last 5 home games. For Cleveland, the Over is 3-1 in its last 4 games. The Over has also hit in 9 of the last 10 matchups between these squads.
Cleveland’s offense has been unstoppable against Philly recently, and with the 76ers being fully healthy here, their offense will look just as good. Don’t expect this to be a defensive matchup; look for the stars on both sides to put up big numbers.
