PHILADELPHIA — When one looks at the career of Philadelphia 76ers big man Andre Drummond, one can’t help but be impressed by what he’s been able to accomplish. The No. 9 pick of the 2012 NBA draft has averaged 12.3 points and 12.0 rebounds in his career while being named an All-Star twice and has been named to an All-NBA Team once in his career.

Even in year 14, Drummond is still producing as he’s averaging 7.0 points and 8.8 rebounds as he is still one of the better rebounders in the league. Healthy after a tough 2024-25 season, Drummond has added a 3-point shot to his arsenal as he’s shooting 37.8% from deep on 1.3 attempts per game.

He has been impressive and has earned the respect of his younger teammates. Especially, Jabari Walker.

“For him to be around so long, I just kinda pick his brain,” said Walker. “He always has an answer for every situation. He’s seen a lot and his poise, his confidence, his aggressiveness, and just his timing.”

Drummond’s timing is truly one of the more impressive things he brings to the table. The way he can rebound the basketball at this stage of his career and the way he has rebounded so well throughout his career has been impressive. That is a big thing that has stood out to Walker.

“He has some God-given gifts that you just can’t teach which also helps, but his mentality to adjust, and things like this,” Walker added. “Like, not playing, but then being ready coming in, and get 15/20 rebounds some day, that’s tough. Not many people can do that.”

Drummond is somebody who Walker can emulate as he has similar skills due to his ferocious rebounding skills and ability to make an impact on the floor without needing the ball.
