There’s just over a week until the Feb. 5 trade deadline, and Boston Celtics fans will be patiently waiting to see whether Brad Stevens decides to make a move. This season was supposed to be a gap year; however, Joe Mazzulla’s coaching style has seen Boston emerge as a genuine contender in a wide-open Eastern Conference. Therefore, there are some sections of the fanbase that would like to see the Celtics become buyers before Feb. 5.

The Celtics need some additional talent at the center position, or someone who can play both the four and the five. Of course, Mazzulla must also prepare for the eventual return of Jayson Tatum, whether that be this season or next. Tatum is currently sidelined due to an Achilles tendon injury.

During a recent episode of the “Hardwood Knocks” podcast, hosts Dan Favale and Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes discussed the impending trade deadline and what we can expect to see from the Celtics. Will Stevens take a big swing? Will he look to get the Celtics under the luxury tax apron? Or, is Boston set to stand pat and see how far the current roster can take them?
