NBA fans react to viral Giannis Antetokounmpo to San Antonio Spurs proposed trade.
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has remained loyal to the franchise for more than a decade.
However, with the Bucks facing a third straight first-round exit, many expect the Greek Freak to demand a move away from Milwaukee in the offseason.
San Antonio Spurs have been touted as a popular destination for Antetokounmpo if he demands a trade and wishes to start a new chapter in his career.

While Antetokounmpo is yet to officially ask for a trade, many have already started putting their heads together to figure out a potential trade package to get him to San Antonio.
Speaking of which, Bleacher Report recently proposed a trade package that would help the Spurs land Antetokounmpo ahead of the 2025-26 season. But it’s safe to say that NBA fans didn’t like the idea.
“Laughable thinking Castle and Vassell aren’t included,” a fan wrote. While another added: “Thats not all in… It’s not even an acceptable deal.”
One fan stated: “First of all, Giannis isn’t getting traded. Secondly, this isn’t nearly enough.”
“Bucks are going to need more. Even 2K would reject that in a second,” a fan roasted the idea.
One fan adjusted the trade package and wrote: “Needs 2 more starters and 3 more picks.”
“That’s not enough,” another fan wrote with laughing emojis.
Although the Spurs part ways with three players and five draft picks in this deal, most believe the Bucks wouldn’t accept it unless someone of Stephon Castle or De’Aaron Fox’s caliber is included in the package.
Bucks have a clear strategy to keep Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee
It’s rare that someone as talented as Antetokounmpo is available for a trade. In fact, it has been reported that for the first time in his career, Giannis is open to contemplating his future.
However, it doesn’t change the fact that Antetokounmpo is a 2x NBA MVP, 1x NBA Champ, 1x NBA Finals, and coming off a season averaging 30.4 points per game.
Evidently, Bucks GM Jon Horst wants to ‘gut’ any team’s depth if he is required to part ways with the homegrown superstar.
“… If every scenario in play leaves the other team so gutted that Giannis might not actually be in that much better of a situation, then maybe that’s where he looks at the room and says, ‘All right, let me stay put.’”
The Spurs are likely one of the two teams in the NBA that has enough depth to trade for Giannis and still be left with a competitive roster. The other team is their Western Conference rival, the Houston Rockets.
