Stud
Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets vs. Charlotte Hornets, $9,800
Murray has been brilliant with Nikola Jokic (knee) sidelined, scoring at least 56 FPTS in five of his last six. Murray is on the heels of a 62.75 FPTS outing vs. the Wizards last night and this Hornets’ defense he is facing tonight ranks 24th in rating this season.
Mostly attributed to a huge 10.6 percentage point increase to his assist rate, Murray is producing 1.3 FPTS per minute with Jokic off the floor this season and Murray should score nothing less than 50 FPTS in this possible nail biter vs. Charlotte. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Nuggets are only a 1.5-point for this matchup.
Other Options: Trey Murphy ($8,300), Brandon Ingram ($8,000)
Value
Caleb Love, Portland Trail Blazers at Sacramento Kings, $5,800
If Deni Avdija (back) remains sidelined Sunday, Love will be a strong target vs. the Kings, who rank 27th in defensive rating this season. Avdija leads the Trail Blazers with a 28.9% usage rate this season and with the forward out for the last three, Love is amassing 33.8 FPTS in 30 minutes per game.
With Avdija off the floor this season, Love is scoring 1.0 FPTS per minute with a 25.3% usage rate and a 23.9% assist rate.
Other Options: Teranace Mann ($3,700), Rayan Rupert ($3,200)
Forward
Stud
Brandon Miller, Charlotte Hornets at Denver Nuggets, $6,800
Miller has been excellent recently, topping 40 FPTS in four of his last seven. The wing exposed the Warriors and their No.6 rated defense for 45 FPTS last night, and up next is a Nuggets team that ranks 22nd in defensive rating this season and is on the second leg of a back-to-back set.
Denver is only favored by 1.5 points, so Miller should see big minutes and he is underpriced for the upside he brings in this setting. This month, Miller is scoring 1.2 FPTS per minute while handling a 28.4% usage rate and shooting 44% from the field.
Other Options: Kevin Durant ($8,900), Aaron Gordon ($6,700)
Value
Danny Wolf, Brooklyn Nets at Chicago Bulls, $3,800
Wolf is the top value on the slate with Michael Porter Jr. (rest) out. Wolf has started in each of the last three games Porter Jr. has missed and Wolf is averaging 27.2 FPTS in 30 minutes per game in those starts.
Wolf is generating 1.0 FPTS per minute with a 20.7% usage rate with Porter Jr. off the floor and Wolf should easily outproduce his $3,800 salary in this beautiful matchup vs. the Bulls. This season, Chicago ranks fourth in pace and 25th in defensive rating.
Other Options: Noah Clowney ($5,200), Tim Hardaway Jr. ($4,900)
Center
Stud
Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets vs. New Orleans Pelicans, $9,400
Sengun destroyed the Pelicans for 62.25 FPTS when these clubs went head-to-head last month and the big man is one of the top spends on the slate in this elite spot. New Orleans ranks 28th in defensive rating and it is allowing the third-most points in the paint this season.
The Rockets boast the highest implied team total on the slate at 122.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook and Sengun has been awesome this season, leading Houston with 1.4 FPTS per minute and a 28.6% usage rate.
Other Options: Nikola Vucevic ($8,300)
Value
Jalen Smith, Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets, $5,800
The Bulls are facing the Nets for the second game in a row and in the first leg of this mini series, Smith erupted for 49.25 FPTS across 35.1 minutes off the bench. This was a season-high in playing time for the big man and Smith started the second half for the Bulls over Tre Jones.
There is a chance Smith starts tonight, but even if he doesn’t, the veteran has earned himself a larger role of at least 25 minutes vs. this Brooklyn defense that ranks 21st in rating this season. Smith is supplying 1.2 FPTS per minute with a 20% usage rate this season, and while we can’t expect another outing near 50 FPTS, Smith should exceed five-times value.
Other Options: Collin Murray-Boyles ($6,000), Day’Ron Sharpe ($5,100)
