King of the Court is back every Tuesday on DraftKings Sportsbook! Garion Thorne makes a couple contrarian picks for tonight’s slate.

DraftKings will be running it’s popular King of the Court promo on tonight’s seven-game NBA slate. Users who opt have the chance to split $1 million in bonus bets by placing a player prop bet on the DraftKings Sportsbook on the player who ultimately leads that night in total points, rebounds and assists.

Seems simple enough, right? Why wouldn’t you just place a bet and use your token on the highest usage option on that slate and call it a day? Well, the bonus bet split is smaller depending on how popular the player is with the betting public, so there could be some value in taking a contrarian approach.

With that in mind, here are a couple under the radar King of the Court picks for Tuesday night’s basketball action.

King of the Court Value Picks

Keyonte George, Utah Jazz

George is in the midst of a breakout season for the Jazz, one where the third-year guard would be in line for All-Star Game consideration, if not for his team’s 14-29 record. Across 42 games, George is averaging 24.0 points and 6.8 assists a night, all while taking on a career-high 27.6% usage rate. The former 16th-overall pick has managed some huge performances, too. George has four double-doubles and he’s exceeded the 30-point plateau on 11 different occasions, including a new career-best of 39 points set against the Grizzlies back on December 12. The 22-year-old’s ceiling is obvious, and it should be slightly higher on Tuesday evening, with Lauri Markkanen (illness) likely to miss his fifth straight contest. A great matchup doesn’t hurt, either. Both Utah and Minnesota sit inside the top-six in pace so far in January, which is why this tilt has by far the highest projected game total on this slate. In layman’s terms, this should be a wonderful environment for racking up counting stats.

Associated Prop Bet: Keyonte George 25+ Points (-107)

Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors

Barnes probably shouldn’t be a variance play. He’s a sure-fire All-Star and former Rookie of the Year award winner, yet years of toiling his craft for underwhelming teams north of the border has likely left some notoriety on the table. On a slate with this much star power, he certainly won’t be among the most popular options for King of the Court — but he should be! Barnes has one of the most versatile skill-sets in the NBA. It’s not just that he can guard every position, it’s that he can also play point guard or center depending on what the Raptors need. On Tuesday? They’ll need the former fourth-overall pick to cosplay as a big man, as Jakob Poeltl (back) and Collin Murray-Boyles (thumb) are both sidelined. So, the question then becomes: Can Barnes grab enough rebounds to lead this whole slate in PRA? When the Warriors visited Toronto back on December 28, Barnes notched a triple-double with 23 points, 10 assists and a franchise record 25 rebounds. I think its safe to say there’s a path here.

Associated Prop Bet: Scottie Barnes 10+ Rebounds (+149)
