Toronto Raptors rookie forward Collin Murray-Boyles will not play on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors because of a left thumb contusion, the team announced.
Murray-Boyles suffered the injury in the third quarter on Sunday in a 110-93 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers when Luka Dončić hit his wrist on a shot attempt. He was ruled out of returning, recording 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks in 24 minutes, 38 seconds.
The ninth pick in the 2025 NBA draft is reportedly set to undergo further imaging testing on Tuesday in San Francisco after dealing with pain and swelling, according to Michael Grange of Sportsnet. The X-Rays came back negative.
Murray-Boyles is averaging 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and two assists while shooting 53.6% from the field in 37 appearances. He is ninth among all rookies in rebounding and is the only first-year player to haul in at least 15 rebounds in multiple games this season.
The 20-year-old had started the last nine games for the Raptors in place of Jakob Poeltl, averaging 10.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks. He has scored at least 10 points in five straight games, tied for the second-longest active streak by a rookie this season.

Murray-Boyles will miss his eighth game of the season on Tuesday due to injury. He and the team will remain hopeful his latest setback won’t force him to miss additional time, with RJ Barrett (ankle), Poeltl (back) and Ja’Kobe Walter (hip) also sidelined.
