INDIANAPOLIS — Anyone who has seen “The Shawshank Redemption” knows there are two ways to view hope.
There is Red’s belief that “hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.”
Then there is Andy’s sentiment that “hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”

The Knicks’ success on the road gives fans a reason to choose the latter.
They travel to Indiana trailing 0-2 in the Eastern Conference finals.
“The whole year we played well on the road,” Josh Hart said after the Knicks’ 114-109 Game 2 loss to the Pacers on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. “We’ve played well on the road in the playoffs. That’s a tough place to play. Their crowd comes and shows love and support. But we’re a good road team. That always gives us confidence.”

The Knicks are 5-1 on the road this postseason compared to just 3-5 at home.
In the regular season, they were 24-17 away from the Garden.

The Pacers, on the other hand, defend their home court well.

They are 4-1 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse this postseason and went 29-11 at home in the regular season.
The Knicks might be playing away from their fans for two games, but Jalen Brunson had a message for them.
“They’ve always been there through the ups and the downs,” Brunson said. “They’re very knowledgeable sports fans. For me, I guess what I want to say to them, we have to continue to fight. So it’s going to take one day at a time, one game at a time.
“We can’t look ahead, we can’t think about anything other than just Game 3 at this point. That’s just my mindset going forward.”
