May 25 will be a busy day in Indianapolis.

First, the 109th running of the Indy 500 will have around 350,000 fans pack the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Later that night, the Indiana Pacers will host the New York Knicks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

It will be the fourth time the Pacers will play a playoff game on the same day as the 500. The occurrence has become known as Pacers and racers.

The Knicks’ first-half collapse and Aaron Nesmith’s shooting bender in Game 1 seems to taken a lot of their juice away. Gainbridge Fieldhouse promises to be hopping after the Indy 500 and it’s hard to see this one going another direction.”
