A Philadelphia legend is hitting the hardwood later this month. No, it’s not the return of Dr. J or Allen Iverson, but Super Bowl champion and Eagles legend Jason Kelce, who will attempt quite the feat in front of Philly fans.
On a recent episode of his podcast, New Heights, Kelce announced that he will take to the court at the Xfinity Mobile Arena on Thursday, Jan. 29, as the Sixers host the Sacramento Kings. For some time now, Kelce has been working to expand his vertical reach in hopes of eventually dunking a basketball.
Next week, his hard work will come to a head as he attempts to dunk for the first time, and he will do so on an NBA court, live and in front of an arena packed with fans.
“Jan. 29, that’s the day I’m gonna try and do this…” Kelce said. “I figured I’m going to try and do this for the first time, and, you know, we’re going all in. It’s either going to be maximum celebration and energy at the first time I’ve ever done this, or it’s going to be public shame, which I’m all in. Either way, I’m going to feel something.”

The specific timing of the moment, whether it comes at the half, during a time out, or whenever, has yet to be determined, but the moment will undoubtedly be thrilling, no matter the result.
Philly fans who want to be a part of this unforgettable Philly sports crossover will need to purchase tickets to the upcoming game between the Sixers and Kings on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. EST.
