The San Antonio Spurs (30-13) hit the road to take on the Houston Rockets (25-15) Tuesday. Tip-off from Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, is set for 8 p.m. ET (NBC/Peacock). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Spurs vs. Rockets odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: San Antonio leads 1-0

San Antonio handed the Utah Jazz a 123-110 loss Monday, failing to cover as a 16.5-point home favorite as the Under (238.5) hit. Victor Wembanyama dropped 33 points with 10 boards and 2 blocks to lead the Spurs, who scored 25 points off Utah’s 14 turnovers and led 18-10 in fast-break points. San Antonio has won 3 straight, scoring at least 119 points in all 3 wins.

Houston picked up a 119-110 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday as a 13.5-point home favorite while the Under (232.5) cashed. Jabari Smith Jr. went off for 32 points to lead the Rockets, and Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson both added 20-plus points, as well. The Rockets led 47-39 on the glass while also scoring 21 points off turnovers against New Orleans.

The Spurs beat the Rockets 121-110 on Nov. 7, covering as 5.5-point home underdogs with the Over (223.5) cashing. Harrison Barnes finished as 1 of 3 Spurs with more than 20 points against Houston with a team-leading 24. The Spurs forced 24 turnovers and scored 33 points off them.

PASS.

I lean toward the Rockets to pick up the win and cover here as -170 favorites, especially with Sengun back in the lineup to add another reliable scorer to this offense. Still, they are not worth the risk of backing as such heavy favorites. Pass here and bet on the spread and/or total instead.

BET SPURS +4.5 (-115).

San Antonio has covered the spread in 2 of its last 3 road games and is 23-19-1 ATS this season, while the Rockets are just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 and 19-21 against the spread this season.

The Rockets have struggled lately, sitting at 5-5 in their last 10, including a stretch where they lost 4 of 5 — with those losses against Portland, Sacramento, and Dallas. They struggled with their shooting in those games; expect some of those same offensive concerns surrounding shooting and overall creation to still be there, even with Sengun back. That allows for the Spurs and their elite defense to cover here.

Be aware that the Rockets are 3-1 ATS in the last 4 matchups between these squads, however.

BET UNDER 220.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 9 of Houston’s last 10 games, including each of its last 3. For San Antonio, the Under is 9-1 in its last 10 and 25-18 on the season. The Under has also hit in 6 of the last 10 matchups between these squads, being 3-1 in the last 4 meetings in Houston.

Both squads rank top 7 in both scoring defense and defensive rating, making the Under nearly a lock here.
