Jimmy Butler is not alone on his road to recovery.

The Warriors star, who tore his right ACL during Monday night’s 135-112 win over the Miami Heat, has received tons of support and encouragement from the NBA world.

The latest heartwarming example came Tuesday at Chase Center before Golden State’s 145-127 loss to the Toronto Raptors. The arena’s pregame chapel, which is available to players before every game, had a touching prayer for Butler, which was shared by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Kerith Burke.

Here is what the pamphlet reads in its entirety.

“Tonight we pause and we lift up Jimmy. We pray for his body — for healing, strength, and patience in the long road ahead. For the pain that no one sees, and the frustration that comes when something you love is suddenly taken away. We pray for his mind — for peace in the middle of uncertainty. When questions come late at night, when silence feels loud, when the future feels unclear. We pray for his heart — for resilience, confidence, and the reminder that his value has never been limited to availability, minutes, or performance.

“Surround him with the right people — doctors, family, teammates, and voices that speak life when the journey feels heavy. And God, whether Jimmy calls this prayer faith, support, or simply respect — we ask that he would feel covered, not isolated … strengthened, not forgotten … and reminded that he is not walking this road alone. Give him courage for the rehab, patience for the process, and hope for what still lies ahead. And for all of us, help us carry him well — on the court, off the court, and in the quiet moments. Amen.”

Butler’s season-ending injury has altered the blueprint for what the 36-year-old and his Warriors planned to accomplish during the 2025-26 NBA season.

However, as the prayer emphasized, basketball can wait when it comes to Butler’s well-being.

Right now, Butler is a human being in need of support — before he is an athlete.
