This Saturday, January 24th Charlotte won’t just be buzzing because the Hornets take the court, the city will be celebrating Black fatherhood, healing, and community in a powerful way. Dear Fathers, the leading platform amplifying Black dads and their stories, is teaming up with the Charlotte Hornets for Dear Fathers Night 2026, a special pre-game experience dedicated to fatherhood, mental wellness, and the culture that holds it all together.
As part of the night’s programming, attendees will experience an intimate and impactful pregame panel discussion on fatherhood and mental health, featuring an inspiring lineup of voices who live, breathe, and uplift the journey of Black men every day. Panelists include former NBA vet Anthony Morrow, mental health advocate Rwenshaun Miller, tech founder of BatteryXChange Desmond Wiggan Jr., community leader and Roc Nation/D’usse ambassador Curtis Walls, and Dear Fathers’ own co-founder and active dad Rashamod Torrance,
Former NBA Hornets commentary Dell Curry will appear as a special guest as well as other surprised guests.. Dessie Brown Jr. and Make & Gavin of The Black Dads Club Podcast will serve as the evening hosts. Together, they’ll lead a conversation rooted in transparency, brotherhood, and the mission to push forward conversations our communities have needed for generations.
Following the talk, guests will head into the arena for the Wizards vs. Hornets showdown, carrying with them not just the energy of the game, but the momentum of a movement designed to uplift and affirm Black fathers in Charlotte and beyond.
Powered in partnership with The Athlete’s Foot, this event continues Dear Fathers’ mission of changing the narrative around Black fatherhood, offering real stories, real resources, and real representation. Dear Fathers Night has become a signature moment in cities across the country, and Charlotte’s edition is set to be one of the most impactful yet.
