Lamont Butler capped off a terrific college career last season, by playing point guard for the Kentucky Wildcats. He would prove to be one of their most valuable players, and now is looking ahead to the future, and a potential NBA career.

Most analysts don’t have Butler being selected during the 2025 NBA draft. However, that’s not the only way to make it to the next level. Butler is in the process of working out for teams privately to show what he can do.

This past week, Butler made the trip to California, and worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers per reports. The Lakers could certainly use a backup point guard who defends the ball well, making Butler a fit in that regard.

The Lakers aren’t the only team Butler will work out for. Per reports, he will also work out for the Clippers and the Atlanta Hawks. He’s a terrific leader, a skilled defender, and as tough as they come. Good luck to him in all of his workouts.
