The Boston Celtics have been one of the most resilient ball clubs in the NBA this season, quickly bouncing back from most losses and rarely having multiple-game losing streaks. That has not gone unnoticed by the team’s biggest star this season, Jaylen Brown. The Georgia native took some time to praise his teammates for their ability to stay focused on winning in a season many fans and analysts did not see much if it coming for Boston after the Celtics’ 119-104 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday (Jan. 21).

Speaking about a group of teammates he called “very, very resilient, very tough,” Brown credited the grit of his teammates for Boston’s current success in spite of several high-profile exits and injuries. “At the start of the season, the expectations weren’t high, but these guys, they came in and worked day in and day out,” said Brown. “Last year, we were second in the East when we finished.”

“We’re halfway through the season, and we’re second in the East,” he continued. “So that’s just a testament to the work ethic, the resiliency of our head coach, and leadership. It’s a testament to where we are right now.”

Celtics sharpshooter Sam Hauser in particular stood out for Brown, especially his timely scoring of late. “When Sam is shooting those shots and not hitting nothing but the bottom of the net, that’s a great sign for our team,” he explained.

“So just finding him, looking for him more, and then living with the makes or the misses, because the analytics are in our favor.”
