2024-25 season series: Cleveland won 2-1
Cleveland beat the Sacramento Kings 123-118 in its most recent game Friday while failing to cover as a 13-point home favorite with the Over (233.5) cashing. Donovan Mitchell finished with 33 points and Evan Mobley added 29 in the win. The Cavs scored 15 points off turnovers to Sacramento’s 4 while also dominating 13-4 in transition and 52-36 in points in the paint against the Kings.
Orlando was dominated 124-97 by the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday, failing to cover as a 4-point home favorite while the Under (224.5) hit. Paolo Banchero and Desmond Bane both scored over 20 points but no other Magic starter scored more than 4 in the loss. The Magic have lost back-to-back games, losing both by more than 15 points and giving up more than 120 points in each.

Cavaliers at Magic picks and predictionsPrediction
Cavaliers 116, Magic 113
BET CAVALIERS (+115).
Cleveland is 4-1 in its last 5 games overall and 3-0 in its last 3 road games. The Magic have dropped back-to-back games and 2 of its last 3 at home. The Cavs are also 3-1 in their last 4 matchups against Orlando.
The Magic have been terrible offensively lately, being held under 100 points in 2 of their last 5 games and failing to score more than 115 in any of their last 9 losses. On the other side, the Cavs have scored at least 120 in 5 of their last 9 games.
PASS.
I like the Cavs to cover here as +2.5 (-118) underdogs, but I don’t expect this to be a 2-point finish, and I am willing to risk backing the moneyline instead of the tight spread here for the potential extra payout. Pass here and bet on the moneyline and/or Over/Under instead.
If you aren’t as confident in Cleveland as I am, betting the Cavs here instead of on the ML is fine.
LEAN UNDER 228.5 (-115).
The Under has hit in 3 of Cleveland’s last 5 road games and is 24-22 for the Cavs this season. For Orlando, the Under is 4-3 in its last 7 games. The Under has also hit in all of the last 3 matchups between these squads in Orlando and has hit in both of the previous 2 matchups overall.
Look for the Magic to struggle to find consistent shooting or offense in the halfcourt, while the Cavs will struggle offensively when Mitchell isn’t the one initiating everything.
