Alex Hunter shares his three favorite player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s eight-game slate.
Sunday presents an eight-game slate, and below are three of my favorite NBA player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday’s slate.
Top NBA player prop bets
Brandin Podziemski O 4.5 Assists (+122)
Podziemski is coming off a 10-assist showing in 32.3 minutes of work vs. the Mavericks this past Thursday, which was a direct result of Jimmy Butler (knee) being sidelined. The veteran is out for the season and in the three games Podziemski has played with Stephen Curry active but Butler inactive this season, Podziemski has produced seven, two and 10 assists. In these contests, the guard is averaging 27.8 minutes and a team-high 12.3 potential assists per game.
With Butler off the court this season, Podziemski’s assist rate rises 1.7 percentage points to 20.3%. The 22-year-old is facing a Timberwolves defense that ranks 10th in rating Sunday, but 4.5 assists is just too low of a line for Podziemski in any matchup with Butler out and getting this over at a plus-money price is something that needs to be taken advantage of.
Naji Marshall O 26.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-125)
Marshall continues to be undervalued by the oddsmakers and he is a must-bet for this over. With Anthony Davis (hand) sidelined for the last eight, Marshall has been sensational, leading the Mavericks with 21.0 PPG to go along with 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. The veteran is shooting 55.9% from the field and handling a 24.6% usage rate during this time, and Marshall has topped 26.5 PRA in all but one of these eight games.
The forward is facing a Bucks team that will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) on Sunday and Marshall should cruise past 26.5 PRA in this matchup.
Dillon Brooks U 21.5 Points (-109)
The Suns will be without Devin Booker (ankle) tonight, but Brooks hasn’t exactly seized the opportunity when Booker has been sidelined this season. The guard has missed four games and in those contests, Brooks is scoring 18.3 PPG, which is notably lower than his 20.2 average for the season. Brooks has fallen short of 21.5 points in all but one of these four games and while his usage rises to a team-high 33% with Booker inactive, Brooks has struggled with the featured role and the extra defensive attention he sees with Booker absent.
Brooks is a great player who makes a serious impact for his team, but he isn’t built to be his team’s main scorer and Brooks should stay under 21.5 points tonight with the Heat in town, who rank eighth in defensive rating this season.
