We’re now three months into the new era of the NBA on NBC, but there’s still room for some firsts. Since launching two straights nights of basketball every single week in October, NBC Sports has hosted dozens of games featuring teams from across the league. But this week, we’ll get another first.
How to Watch
Watch NBA on NBC on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
For the first time since 2002, NBC will air a game featuring the Utah Jazz, who last played on NBC air in the days of John Stockton and Karl Malone. The Jazz, who’ve been struggling so far this season, will get the home court advantage in Salt Lake City, but they’ll be facing a hot Clippers squad in the midst of a major turnaround.

How can you watch the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Utah Jazz game on NBC’s Coast 2 Coast Tuesday?
The Clippers and the Jazz are set to tip off at 10 p.m. ET on January 27, live from Salt Lake City’s Delta Center. The game will broadcast live on NBC and simulcast on Peacock, following the Bucks vs. Sixers game earlier in the night. Mark Followill and Jamal Crawford will call the action, with help from Grant Liffmann reporting courtside.
The entire doubleheader is preceded by the NBA Showtime pregame show, streaming live on Peacock beginning at 7 p.m. ET, when Hall of Famers and honorary coaches Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, and Tracy McGrady will draft their teams of rookies and sophomores for the Castrol Rising Stars mini tournament during NBA All-Star Weekend (coming to you live on NBC and Peacock).

What to watch for in Clippers vs. Jazz
The Clippers spent much of the first two months of the season in a major slump, thanks in part to injury issues and an offense that just wasn’t clicking. These days, though, they’ve turned things around, winning in bunches and basically looking like a different team since Christmas. Kawhi Leonard’s been putting up great scoring numbers, while James Harden’s handling the assists and Ivica Zubac is picking up more than 11 rebounds per game. They’re in the middle of a hot streak, and even on the road in the high altitude of Salt Lake City, they’re the favorites in this game.
That means the Jazz will have their work cut out for them, especially as star and leading scorer Lauri Markkanen has been dealing with an illness. Even if Markkanen is healthy, though, the Jazz have struggled this season. They’ve never put together a winning streak longer than two games, and they’ve allowed more than 127 points per game so far this season. They’ll have to really lock things down if they want to stop Leonard and the Clippers’ offensive assault.
