The Bucks and the Sixers will tip off at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, January 27, from Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. The game will broadcast live on NBC and stream simultaneously on Peacock, with Noah Eagle and Reggie Miller calling the action and Zora Stephenson reporting from courtside.

The entire doubleheader is preceded by the NBA Showtime pregame show, streaming live on Peacock beginning at 7 p.m. ET, when Hall of Famers and honorary coaches Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, and Tracy McGrady will draft their teams of rookies and sophomores for the Castrol Rising Stars mini tournament during NBA All-Star Weekend.

What to watch for the Bucks vs. Sixers NBA on NBC game

Though both teams have had a bit of a rocky January in terms of wins and losses, the Sixers enter this game as the clear favorite. They’re one of the Top 5 teams in the East, battling for playoff position alongside the likes of Detroit, Boston, New York, Toronto, and Cleveland, and Maxey’s been a big part of that success. The 2024 Most Improved Player is putting up Top 5 scoring numbers so far this season, with 30 points a game on top of leading the team in assists. With the team also boasting 2023 NBA MVP Joel Embiid, nine-time NBA All-Star Paul George, and impressive rookie rookie V.J. Edgecombe, this very much feels like Philly’s game on paper. But they don’t play games on paper.

Milwaukee, meanwhile, has Giannis Antetokounmpo, who leads the squad in points, rebounds, and assists. Like Maxey, Giannis was named an All-Star Game starter this month for his efforts, but even with his performance, the Bucks are struggling a bit. If the playoffs were held today, they’d be just on the outside of the play-in tournament, which means they need to spend the last three months of the season tightening up however possible. A win over Philly wouldn’t guarantee a turnaround, but it would be a nice place to start.
