The NBA named Luka Donic the Western Conference Player of the Week for the 16th time in his career
On the two-year anniversary of his 73-point night, the NBA named Luka Dončić Western Conference player of the week.
The Lakers guard averaged 34.3 PPG, 10.7 RPG and 9.7 APG as Los Angeles went 2-1 from Jan. 19-25. This is the second time he’s won this award as a Laker and the third time in his career. On the season, he’s averaging a league-leading 33.4 PPG, 7.8 RPG and 8.7 APG in 36 games and is ranked third in the MVP ladder.

In Dončić’s first game of the week, he had a triple-double where he scored 38 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, while also having two steals as the Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 115-107. This was Doncic’s 52nd career 30-point triple-double, which ranks second all-time, according to the NBA. This is Dončić’s fourth 30-point triple-double of the season, joining Lebron James and Magic Johnson as the only Lakers to have four 30-point triple-doubles in a season.
Two days later, Doncic had 32 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists as the Lakers fell to the Los Angeles Clippers 112-104. Doncic then closed out the week against his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, with 38 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, as Doncic is now 4-0 against his former team.
The Lakers’ next game is Jan. 26 at 5:00 p.m. against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center in Chicago.
