One of the Houston Rockets‘ penultimate games in the month of January is a Wednesday night bout versus the San Antonio Spurs, who look like a new and improved squad compared to last season. After San Antonio missed out on the 2025 NBA Playoffs entirely, it’s on track to not only qualify but hold home-court advantage in the first round and beyond.
Fans should anticipate a hotly contested back-and-forth affair between the two Texas-based squads, but the fact that it’s a home game for the Rockets will prove to be the deciding factor in the final outcome, as Houston will pull away late.
Records, standing, and streaks
At present, the Rockets have a 28-16 record, which puts them in the Western Conference standings’ fourth-place slot.
The Spurs are the owners of a 31-15 record, good enough for second in the Western Conference.
