St. Andrew’s School has tapped Daniel Jackson as the new head coach of its varsity girls basketball team, bringing in a seasoned leader fresh off a string of postseason runs at Calvary Day School.Jackson arrives with more than 10 years of coaching and athletic leadership experience. At Calvary, he led the Lady Cavaliers to a region championship and a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2023–24 GHSA state tournament. This past season, his squad made it to the Elite Eight and finished as region runner-up.His efforts earned him the 2023–24 Coach of the Year honor, along with the Greg Oliver Memorial Award, which recognizes coaches for their impact beyond the hardwood. Known for instilling discipline and defensive grit, Jackson’s teams were regular contenders and drew praise across the region.“Coach Jackson brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game,” said St. Andrew’s athletic director Jeff Gonzalez. “His history of building strong relationships and successful programs makes him a great fit for our community.”Gonzalez added that Jackson’s leadership is expected to “inspire our student-athletes to reach their full potential.”Jackson said he’s eager to get started. “I’m honored to join the St. Andrew’s community,” he said. “Let’s continue to build something great together.”Jackson takes over a Lions program that went 6-18 this past season.
