With the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade talks heating up, the Warriors have entered the forefront of potential suitors for the two-time NBA MVP.

How does the pairing of Antetokounmpo and Steph Curry on the Warriors sound? Stephen A. Smith seems to be in favor of it.

“How’s Steph Curry looking in Golden State?” Smith said Thursday on ESPN’s “First Take.” “I know he’s 37. Brother is averaging 27 [points per game]. Brother is still the greatest shooter God ever created. Four-time champion. How about Giannis with that brother?”

Trading for an NBA star as massive as Antetokounmpo is a tall task, but Smith believes Golden State has enough assets to trade for the 13-year veteran.

“Now, if you’re not trading Draymond Green, [which] you wouldn’t do, you have to include Jimmy Butler in any deal that you’re going to make for Giannis. We know he’s out. So again, because he’s out, if you’re Golden State, you know he’s out for the year, so you know what you could do, and next year is his last year.

“You could add [Brandin] Podziemski up in there. You can add him in the mix along with other players. Remember, they got about four first-round picks. They got about three picks they could swap.”

Smith previously had stated that Antetoukounmpo joining Curry on the Warriors would be unfair to other NBA teams, but it seems that he now is fully sold on the idea of the two future Naismith Basketball Hall of Famers joining forces in Golden State.

“The movement without the basketball, the range that goes from 20 to 30 to 40 feet, that dude that is Steph Curry? Could you imagine if you hold on to Draymond, Steph Curry with Giannis? Lord, have mercy.

“I get your point about Houston and how [Kevin Durant] would look with Giannis. How about what Golden State would look [like] with Steve Kerr coaching, with Draymond still there as a facilitator, with Steph shooting the way that he shoots, moving the way that he moves, and opening the floodgates for Giannis because you can’t take your eyes off Steph.”

The Warriors have until the NBA’s Feb. 5 trade deadline to make a deal with the Bucks, who currently are listening to offers for Antetokounmpo.
