For the better part of a decade, the Warriors have fantasized about what it would be like to have superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in Golden State. But for one San Francisco restaurant in Chinatown, they already know what it’s like to have the Greek Freak in the Bay Area.

Popular brunch spot Sisterita has drawn the attention of Warriors fans this week because of its Yelp page, which prominently features photos of the disgruntled Bucks star. Of course, that’s not how Antetokounmpo looks in the uploaded pictures. He’s smiling from ear to ear while posing with staff in one photo, and maintaining the same happy visage in the other, which is of him posing with the NBA Cup trophy.

As rumors continue to swirl that the Dubs are the most well-equipped team – among suitors like New York, Miami and Minnesota – to trade for Antetokounmpo in the midst of a recent bombshell report that he wants to leave Milwaukee, the images have fueled fan excitement that this organization might actually, at long last, take a big swing at the trade deadline.

The photo of Antetokounmpo with Sisterita staff happened during last season’s All-Star festivities in San Francisco. Sirinaa Saengthong, a co-owner of the restaurant, admits she’s not a big sports fan so she didn’t recognize the Bucks star for who he was when he came in for his morning reservation.

“We noticed him because he is very tall,” she said. “People noticed that and started to say, ‘Oh my god, he’s maybe Giannis.'”

Her suspicions were confirmed when a customer informed her exactly who he was, and another couple asked her to take their photo with him. Saengthong and another staffer described him as very humble because he was willing to take pictures with people who asked. His order was an off-menu custom five-egg scramble with “mushrooms, onions and all kinds of stuff.” Saengthong and the employee insisted that they treated him like they do any other customer, with the one exception being that they asked for a photo before he left.

Even though the photo is about to turn a year old, the fact that this involves the superstar doing something in the Bay Area is of particular interest to online Dubs fans. They’ve analyzed Antetokounmpo’s local comings and goings like Charlie Day in the “It’s Always Sunny” meme.

Prior to the Sisterita photo, for instance, there was another notable photo in its place. This one featured Steph Curry alongside the Dubs’ dream acquisition at an All-Star after-party that Curry hosted. The Athletic’s Sam Amick powered the rumor mill further along with his report that Antetokounmpo was the lone non-Warriors star in attendance – with all due respect to Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson. That being said, photos from that evening also show Bucks co-owner Michael D. Fascitelli attended the event.

Not even a week after Amick’s report, Antetokounmpo once again turned heads during a Bay Area appearance when fans spotted him staying at a San Francisco hotel. This wasn’t for a basketball event explicitly, as he was there just to make an appearance at Google I/O. Yet Warriors fans found a way to turn this into a Giannis-to-Golden State rumor anyway, as some pointed out the NBA All-Star who attended the event last year was Jimmy Butler, whom the Warriors would trade for about 8.5 months later – this season’s trade deadline (Feb. 5) would mark about that same time span.

The most recent eyebrow-raising moment happened just this month, when a video from the crowd at Chase Center showed an oddly entranced Antetokounmpo watching the Warriors warm up, a clip that has since recirculated in recent days.

Saengthong was blissfully unaware about how online Warriors fans have keyed in on her restaurant in the wake of these Antetokounmpo rumors, let alone that he might be a future member of the local NBA team. While the Bucks have until Feb. 5 to decide whether they’ll trade their superstar to the Dubs, to her, the most important decision regarding the Greek Freak has already been made: He chose to eat at her restaurant.
