The Boston Celtics wanted to send a message after another loss in a winnable game vs. an inferior (at least in terms of record) ball club, crushing the Sacramento Kings 123-93 at TD Garden Friday (Jan. 30) night after losing to the Atlanta Hawks in a 117-106 loss at home on Wednesday (Jan. 28).
The Celtics won the shot attempt battle 93-83 while holding the Kings to just 32% from beyond the arc. Boston lost the battle of the boards 47-44, but forced 16 turnovers to their own 7, enough to lead by as much as 31 points in the much-needed recovery from the Hawks loss earlier in the week. With the win, the Celtics improve to 30-18 on the season while remaining tied with the New York Knicks in the East, with New York owning the tiebreaker to put Boston in third place.
