After JJ Redick suggested that LeBron James is gearing up for a Slam Dunk Contest appearance next month, the Los Angeles Lakers star made it clear he has no plans of participating this year.

“S–t, no chance,” James said.

James certainly looked capable of making a Dunk Contest appearance on Friday as he threw down a couple of jams against the Washington Wizards.

“The early rumors are that the league is gonna try to get him to the dunk contest this year,” Redick told reporters after the game. “There’s some juice left in those legs, apparently. The great left bionic leg.”

Considering James has never participated in the Dunk Contest, he certainly wouldn’t be inclined to do so at the age of 41. Instead, he’ll look to continue aiding the Lakers in their quest for a title.

He put together a strong performance on Friday, posting 20 points and six assists in a 142-111 blowout win.

James is averaging 21.9 points, 6.6 assists and 5.8 boards per game as the Lakers sit at 29-18 on the year.
