Egor Dëmin registered his first double-double and set a franchise mark on Friday, helping the Brooklyn Nets snap a seven-game losing streak with a win over the Utah Jazz.
Dëmin finished with a career-high 25 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the 109-99 win at the Delta Center. He went 8-of-16 from the field, including six 3-pointers, in 29 minutes, 23 seconds as the Nets improved to 3-14 in January.
The eighth overall pick is the first Nets rookie with at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in a game since April 2010. He is the first to hit six or more 3s in multiple games and now has the most 3-pointers in a calendar month in franchise history (42).
“The kid can shoot the ball,” said rookie Danny Wolf, who finished with 14 points. “I think he proves that night in and night out. We know, he knows it. He is confident with it. The kid can shoot.”
Dëmin is among 10 rookies named to the Rising Stars Game, averaging 10.7 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds on 40.2% shooting from 3-point range in 41 appearances. He is second in 3-pointers among rookies (104) and is one of 10 first-year players with at least four 20-point games.

The 19-year-old previously set the Nets’ single-game rookie 3-point record in a loss to the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 29 (7). He has knocked down at least one triple in 34 consecutive games, the longest streak in history by a rookie.
Dëmin has started the past 34 games for the Nets, showcasing his potential in spurts. He has impressed the team over that span and is proving why he was so highly touted out of BYU.
“There is a reason why we drafted him,” Nets coach Jordi Fernández said. “We believed that shooting was NBA shooting, and he has proved it from the beginning. … He is always even-keeled. Every time the ball goes up, I believe it is going in. I’m very, very happy for him.”
