Player Notes
• Anthony Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves tonight in Memphis, finishing with a game-high 33 points on 9-of-21 shooting and a season-high 14-of-16 from the free throw line, marking his 21st 30+ point game of the season (113th career). Tonight marked Edwards’ first game of the season with 30+ points and 16+ free throw attempts and the sixth time doing so in his career, good for the second-most such games in Wolves history (Kevin Love, 10).
• Edwards has now tallied 20 or more points in a career-high 21 straight games, tied for the longest regular season streak of 20+ points in franchise history (Karl-Anthony Towns, 21 from Jan. 26-March 13, 2017).
• Edwards finishes the month of January averaging 30.1 points per game, the fourth-highest scoring average in the NBA this month and the fourth time in his career averaging 30 or more points per game in a single month.
• Julius Randle added 27 points on an efficient 11-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three, seven rebounds and a game-high seven assists. Tonight marks Randle’s 19th 25+ point game of the season (194th career) and his 12th 25+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist game of the season (94th career).
• In 30:54 minutes of action off the bench, Naz Reid ended tonight’s game with 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including a season-high-tying 6-of-10 from deep, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals. Tonight marks Reid’s 11th game of the season with 20+ points (59th career) and the Wolves move to 8-3 this year when he scores 20 or more points. Tonight also marked his second 20+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist game of the season (sixth career).
• Reid’s 11 20+ point games this season are the second-most in the NBA amongst reserves, trailing Miami’s Jaime Jaquez Jr. (13 such games).
• Over his last four games, Reid has tallied nine steals, including having three steals in three of the last four contests.
• Reid finishes the month of January with 256 total points, the highest scoring month of his career (previous high was 253 in Feb. of 2023).
• For the second straight game Jaden McDaniels shined, ending the game with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 3-of-5 from three, his 12th 20+ point game of the season (40th career).
