Kevin Durant had an off night on Saturday as the Houston Rockets secured a 111-107 victory over Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks. Durant scored just 13 points on 6-of-17 overall and 1-of-4 from beyond the arc. The former NBA MVP added five rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 38 minutes to help lead Houston to another win.

The Rockets marked their fourth victory in the last five games, improving to 30-17 on the season. As of writing, Durant and Co. are fourth in the Western Conference. They are currently 1.5 games behind Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

The Rockets are back in action on Monday. They go on the road for a matchup against the 13-36 Indiana Pacers.

Houston submitted its injury report for the game, and Durant has been added with an ankle issue. Unfortunately for the Rockets, the two-time NBA champion forward will not be able to play against Indiana. Houston announced via the injury report that Durant has officially been ruled out for the game due to a left ankle sprain.

It is unclear when Durant sustained the injury, but it appears to be a new issue. Despite his poor shooting from the field against the Mavs, the 37-year-old looked fine in Houston’s last game.

Durant has been healthy for the Rockets this season. Monday’s absence will mark just his third game out in 2025-26, and the first due to an injury. In 45 games played thus far, the 37-year-old is averaging 26.2 points on 51% shooting, 5.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.3 triples in 36.8 minutes per contest.

With Durant sidelined, more minutes should be available for the likes of Josh Okogie, Dorian Finney-Smith and Jae’Sean Tate.

Durant, who joined Houston during the offseason via a blockbuster seven-team trade, will get a chance to return on Wednesday when the Rockets take on the Boston Celtics. That will be the first night of a back-to-back set for Houston, with a matchup against the Charlotte Hornets scheduled for Thursday.
