After falling to USC 78-75 due to a last-second turnover, Rutgers men’s basketball is set to finish its Los Angeles road trip tomorrow as they are set to take on UCLA.

The Bruins are coming into this game after a double overtime 98-97 loss to Indiana on Saturday. Throughout the season, UCLA has established itself as one of the better teams in the Big Ten, pulling off wins against teams like No.4 Purdue. However, the Bruins struggled in the rest of their ranked games and have lost some games to unranked opponents like the Hoosiers, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.

UCLA has scoring ability all up and down its lineup as five different Bruins are averaging 11 or more points per game. Forward Tyler Bilodeau leads the way in this category, as he is averaging 18.2 points per game. He is also second on the team in rebounding with 5.7 per game. Guard Donovan Dent, who is second on the team in scoring with 13.6 points per game, leads the team in assists per game with 6.8 and steals with 1.6. Eric Dailey Jr. leads the team in rebounds with 6 per game.

As a team, UCLA averages 78 points per game, 32.9 rebounds per game, and 15.6 assists per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor, 76.3 percent from the line, and 37.4 percent from three. In comparison, Rutgers is averaging 70.4 points per game, 34.6 rebounds per game, and 10.9 assists per game while shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 73.5 percent from the line, and 32.2 percent from three.

UCLA might be getting one of its stars back for this game. Guard Skyy Clark, who was averaging 13.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season, has missed the last few weeks due to injury. He was listed as questionable for the first time since his injury last Saturday against Indiana and could be set to come back tomorrow against Rutgers.

The Knights’ recipe for staying competitive in this game is similar to the one in all other games. Force a lot more turnovers than you have, be aggressive on the offensive glass, and don’t let the game get out of hand too early. All of that, plus having an aggressive and energized defense gives Rutgers its best chance to win.

Rutgers vs UCLA will tip off tomorrow at 9:30 inside the Pauley Pavilion in LA. Live coverage for the game will be available on BTN.
