Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond has heard his name pop up in trade rumors in recent weeks.
Drummond is a veteran and has been traded before, so this isn’t his first rodeo. However, leading up to the trade deadline, the two-time All-Star sent a clear message regarding his future in Philadelphia.
“I love being here in Philly,” Drummond said, via Sixers Wire. “I wanna make sure that’s on the record. I love being here in Philly, but that’s the business. (Expletive) does happen and you gotta stay professional and be ready for whatever to come.”
The trade deadline is typically a stressful time for players, especially players who might be on the trading block, but Drummond has found a way to put a positive spin on it and make it more enjoyable for himself at this point in his career.

“At least they’re talking about you!” Drummond said. “Somebody wants you. I’ve kinda made this time of the year more fun than taxing. I know it’s a lot for people to deal with having their name brought up and trade rumors and this and that and the third. So, for me, I make it fun like, listen, at least somebody wants me.”
While he would prefer to continue the season in Philly with a Sixers team that is right in the thick of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference, Drummond is prepared for the quick change that comes with being moved at the deadline.
“It’s difficult and it’s a quick change, too,” Drummond said of being traded at the deadline. “It can happen really fast. … You gotta uproot your whole family, if you have families. You have situations going on out there. It just changes in an instance. So, just being prepared for that and whatever comes with it.”
On the season, Drummond has appeared in 37 games for Philadelphia and posted averages of 6.8 points and 7.8 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per performance.Â
