The NBA All-Star Game returns to Los Angeles County this February. And for Angelenos. the biggest draw will be Luka Dončić’s appearance in Lakers gold on his home floor.

Luka Dončić was named a Western Conference starter for the 75th NBA All-Star Game, which will take place at the Inuit Dome in Inglewood on Feb. 15, 2026.

Who is playing with Luka Dončić?

Now in his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dončić joins a starting lineup that includes Stephen Curry (Warriors), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder), Nikola Jokić (Nuggets), and Victor Wembanyama (Spurs). He will also share the floor with longtime Lakers star LeBron James, who was named as a Western Conference reserve.

After the selection of the initial 24 All-Stars, Kawhi Leonard (LA Clippers) was just added to bring the total number of U.S. All-Stars to 16, the minimum required under the format.

A Home-Court All-Star Moment

This will be Dončić’s first All-Star Game in the Los Angeles area as a member of the Lakers, giving local fans a rare opportunity to see one of the league’s top international stars represent the franchise on a major national stage. The Inuit Dome will host its first NBA All-Star Game as part of the league’s milestone 75th edition.

Dončić’s selection as a starter reflects his continued status as one of the NBA’s most productive guards. He enters All-Star Weekend among the league leaders in scoring and assists, while serving as the primary offensive player for the Lakers.

What is the new All-Star Game format?

The 2026 All-Star Game will introduce a new U.S. vs. World format in which two teams made up of U.S.-born players and one team of international players will compete in a round-robin tournament. The three teams will play four 12-minute games, with each team facing the others in a fast-paced, mini-tournament designed to showcase a wider mix of matchups and player combinations.

International Spotlight

The new format places Dončić in a prominent role as one of the headliners for the “World” team. As one of the NBA’s most recognizable international players, the Slovenian guard is expected to be a focal point of the global roster.

The fresh format is designed to highlight the league’s growing international presence, with players from outside the United States competing directly against two teams made up of U.S.-born players.
