Anthony Edwards did not get the job done for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies. The four-time All-Star went off for a game-high 39 points on 13-of-27 shooting, seven rebounds, three assists, a steal and three triples in 40 minutes of action. It still wasn’t enough, though, as the Wolves fell to Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Grizzlies, 137-128.

Edwards played through a back injury in that game. He was initially deemed questionable to play, but was given the green light to take the court before tip-off.

Edwards is still nursing an injury heading into Minnesota’s next game, but it’s now a different issue from what he dealt with against the Grizzlies.

The Timberwolves are back in action on Wednesday. They will be on the road again to close out their current three-game road trip. Minnesota will face off against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena.

Edwards, however, could be sidelined for that matchup. The Wolves submitted their injury report for the game, and the 6-foot-4 shooting guard has been listed as questionable again. This time around, Edwards is nursing a sore left elbow.

The issue does not seem serious, but it’s enough to get Edwards back on the injury report. If he’s unable to go, his next chance to return would be on Friday at home against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Julius Randle, who amassed 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists against Memphis, is questionable to play as well. The two-time All-NBA power forward is dealing with a sore left thumb and could sit out against Toronto, too.

The Wolves could potentially be significantly undermanned in Wednesday’s game. They enter that matchup with a 31-20 record and fifth in the Western Conference.
