Bryan Armetta shares his two favorite player props on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday’s Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat matchup.

In the wide-open Eastern Conference, even the lower-ranked squads feel like they have a shot. That’s the case for the Heat (27-24, 7th in East) and Hawks (24-27, 10th in East). Miami comes into Tuesday having won four of its last six games. Atlanta, the visitors tonight, have dropped two straight.

Which players will step up in this Southeast Division showdown? The Heat are favored by 3.5 points (-102) over the Hawks, with the over/under set at 240.5 points. Here are two of the top prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday’s Atlanta vs. Miami showdown.

Hawks vs. Heat prop bet picks

Jalen Johnson 36+ points + rebounds (-112)

Given their lofty preseason expectations, the Hawks have been a disappointment thus far. However, the lone bright spot for Atlanta is the progression of Jalen Johnson. The first-time All-Star has taken his game to another level this season, emerging as a lethal all-around threat. Through 46 games, the Duke alum is averaging 23.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 8.0 assists to go with 50/36/78 shooting splits. Boosting JJ’s stock is an offense that operates at the NBA’s second-fastest pace (102.2).

There’s a good chance this one turns into a blowout. Miami has been operating at a blistering pace, posting the NBA’s quickest pace on offense (104.3). That means an abundance of scoring, and rebounding, should be expected tonight. Johnson has recorded at least 36 points + rebounds in four of his previous six outings. The Heat have given up the ninth-most points (117.8) and fifth-most rebounds (55.6) per game to opponents. Add it all up, and the 24-year-old is set up nicely for another terrific stat line.

Davion Mitchell 7+ assists (-110)

As previously mentioned, the Heat play an exciting, up-tempo brand of basketball. That’s led to some impressive counting stats for several members of this deep roster. One name that’s turned heads this season is Davion Mitchell. The fifth-year pro isn’t much of a scorer, but he does a little bit of everything. Through 41 games, the guard is putting up 9.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and a team-leading 7.2 assists. Those numbers, combined with stellar perimeter defense, have been crucial for Miami.

Mitchell is poised for another stat-stuffing performance on Tuesday. Atlanta is a lackluster defense even at full strength, which isn’t the case tonight. Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles) and Onyeka Okongwu (face) are both out, leaving the team without its best rim protectors. The Hawks have surrendered 27.4 assists per game, ninth-most in the NBA. Mitchell has tallied at least seven dimes in 23 of his 41 appearances. That includes the last meeting between these two clubs on December 26th. It won’t come as a surprise if he reaches this total once again in South Beach.
