A Noble Effort

Collin Gillespie sure gave the top spot a run for its money. But the crown will rest with Jalen Johnson and Cooper Flagg after a hotly contested King of the Court competition. Congratulations to all the Johnson and Flagg bettors! Here’s a look at the final top five:

Join us next week for another edition of King of the Court!

Collin Is Ballin

Folks, Collin Gillespie is hooping. With one quarter left to play in Portland, the Suns guard looks like the best candidate for a last-minute upset. With a 27/3/8 line, Gillespie needs 13 more P/R/A to tie for the top spot, and 14 to win outright. Meanwhile, Donovan Clingan has faded into the background with 30 P/R/A.

Strap in for a great fourth quarter. Let’s see if CG gets it done.

No Juice In Golden State

The Warriors-Sixers game ended with a whimper. VJ Edgecombe had a great game with 25/7/7, but it wasn’t enough to challenge for the top spot. That leaves our Suns-Blazers game as the final hope for a challenger.

With the second half underway, can we get some excellence from Collin Gillespie or Donovan Clingan? Let’s find out.

Flagg Secure?

It’s not going well in the late window. Neither Donovan Clingan nor VJ Edgecombe have made much headway on the top spot, and the Sixers are the first team running out of time.

Clingan does remain on pace as we head toward halftime, and Collin Gillespie is putting up a strong performance. We’ll see who can put up a big second half performance and challenge our two kings, Cooper Flagg and Jalen Johnson.

Cling Kong

VJ Edgecombe has fallen off the pace, and we’re unlikely to get a winner out of the Sixers-Warriors game. But there are some promising results early on in Portland. Donovan Clingan is a man possessed so far, and has racked up 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists in eight minutes of play. He sure did himself some favors with this tip drill.

It’s a promising start that puts him on pace to challenge for the top spot. But we’ve got a lot of basketball to play; let’s see if he can keep it up.

Rookie Rising

It might just be VJ Edgecombe’s night in Golden State. The explosive rookie is up to 17 P/R/A as we approach halftime, showcasing his unbelievable athleticism at every turn.

It’s hard not to watch VJ Edgecombe play and not be enamored with how dangerous he is when he gets downhill

He has a long way to go before challenging Flagg, but it’s a great start. With Golden State sitting all of its stars and Tyrese Maxey struggling out of the gate, he may be the best hope for an explosive performance in this game.

The Maine Event

He’s done it, folks. Cooper Flagg is the real deal, and showed it again tonight with a masterful performance against the Celtics. With 36 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, Flagg has tied Jalen Johnson at the top of the leaderboard.

We do need to watch out for any stat corrections with a leaderboard this close. But for now, Flagg and Johnson bettors will be going home with a $62 bonus bet. All that’s left are two more games.

The Sixers and Warriors game is underway, with Tyrese Maxey the prime candidate for a huge P/R/A line. Then we have a Suns-Blazers game that should be a defense-first contest, but could have some surprises. We’re not done yet, folks; don’t start counting that bonus money.

New Crowning

So long, Isaiah Collier. We have three guys duking it out for the top spot. Jalen Johnson has taken the lead, and is sure putting on a show. Atlanta’s All-Star has a 29-point triple-double against the Miami Heat.

But Kyle Kuzma of all people is hot on his trail. Kuz has 47 P/R/A and has a few more minutes to play. And Cooper Flagg lurks just behind with 45, with eight minutes to go against the Celtics. It’s a spring to the finish, folks; buckle up.

Close, But No Cigar

We had some huge pushes late in the Pistons-Nuggets game. Nikola Jokic, Cade Cunningham, and Jamal Murray all came within three P/R/A of the top spot. But it was not to be, as Isaiah Collier held on to the crown.

With Luka Doncic and LeBron James succumbing to the blowout, we have a few more challengers from the first window. Jaylen Brown and Jalen Johnson each have 38 P/R/A heading into the late second half of their respective games. Perhaps one of them has the gumption to take down Collier.

Collier, Man

These Jazz youngsters cannot stop cooking. Isaiah Collier has passed his fellow bench mob mate, Kyle Filipowski, and is putting up a legendary stat line. Collier has put up 17 points, five rebounds, and a whopping 22 assists as the fourth quarter winds down.

With the Jazz shorthanded after the Jaren Jackson Jr. trade, Collier has played every single minute tonight. And he’s sure delivering against an undermanned Pacers team. Will Collier be able to pull a massive upset tonight?

Flipping Out

We have an unlikely leader, folks. The Jazz have sure grabbed some headlines today, and they’re doing it again. Bench big man Kyle Filipowski is our new leader on the King of the Court board.

Flip already has a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds to go with his four assists. All things are possible against the Pacers defense.

The blowouts are going to play a big role tonight. Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges are having great nights, but with the Knicks up 30+ on the Wizards, they may not be long for this game. Luka Doncic, ever the KOTC king, is having a similar problem as the Lakers run up the score on the Nets. Let’s see how this early window wraps up.

Arrows Unleashed

Jamal Murray sure knows how to get hot. The Blue Arrow is cooking early against the Pistons in a game that brings a ton of offensive firepower.

But the King is approaching. Luka Doncic has already recorded 15 P/R/A through seven minutes of play, and is always in the running for King of the Court. Can Murray hold on to a lead as we approach halftime in the Motor City? Let’s find out.

No Joking Around

Nikola Jokic is building his strength back up game by game. The walking P/R/A monster is getting started early against the Pistons in an early window matchup.

But he’s not the only one in this matchup having a good start. Pistons All-Star center Jalen Duren has seven points and four boards, Duncan Robinson is hot, and reigning champ Alex Sarr is off to another great start. It’s going to be a whirlwind early window. Stay tuned with us, folks.
