The Golden State Warriors made a couple of major moves on Wednesday night, including one that links to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Draymond Green has been the subject of trade rumors over the past several days, but the Defensive Player of the Year was not involved in the Warriors’ two trade deals reported on Wednesday.

Golden State reportedly acquiredKristaps Porzingis from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield. The Warriors finally end the Kuminga trade saga, while adding some much-needed frontcourt reinforcement.
In a separate move, Golden State then traded Trayce Jackson-Davis to the Toronto Raptors for a second-round pick.

Jackson-Davis’ stint with the Warriors ends after two and a half seasons. Selected in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-9 big man’s production dipped through the years.

Jackson-Davis registered career-low numbers this season with 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.4 minutes off the bench. The Warriors have now decided to cash in on the 25-year-old, giving him a fresh start in Toronto.
In exchange for Jackson-Davis, the Warriors receive a 2026 second-round pick from the Raptors. This pick originally belonged to the Lakers and has been moved multiple times, dating back to 2020.
In November 2020, the Lakers traded JaVale McGee to the Cleveland Cavaliers along with this 2026 second-round pick. In exchange, L.A. received Jordan Bell and Alfonzo McKinnie.

The Cavs traded the Lakers’ pick to the Miami Heat in 2023 in a three-team deal involving the San Antonio Spurs. Cleveland acquired Max Strus in exchange for the 2026 second-round pick. The Cavs also sent Cedi Osman, Lamar Stevens and a 2030 second-round pick to the Spurs.
The Raptors then acquired the Lakers’ pick in February 2025 as part of the Jimmy Butler blockbuster trade deal. Toronto was one of five teams involved in the deal, alongside the Warriors, the Heat, the Utah Jazz and the Detroit Pistons.
The Raptors received cash and the 2026 second-round pick from the Heat. Toronto sent Davion Mitchell to Miami as part of the deal.

The Warriors now own the Lakers’ 2026 second-round pick. They can use it as a trade asset for another move before Thursday’s trade deadline. Golden State may also decide to retain the pick and use it in the 2026 NBA Draft.
