BATON ROUGE ― Can LSU women’s basketball pull off the regular season sweep over Texas?

It’ll be a tall order, but the Tigers (21-2, 7-2 SEC) have a shot to get their second win over the Longhorns (21-2, 6-2) this season inside the Moody Center on Texas’ campus Thursday night.

Kim Mulkey and No. 5 LSU bested Vic Shaefer and No. 4 Texas earlier this season in Baton Rouge, holding on for the upset win, 70-65. That was Texas’ first loss on the season; it has also lost to South Carolina on the road as well. The win over Texas jumpstarted a seven-game win streak for LSU.

If the Tigers can find a way to beat Texas and earn their second top-5 win on the season, they’d be one of two teams in the country with multiple top-5 wins, joining the Longhorns.
