The Golden State Warriors traded forward Jonathan Kuminga and guard Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for forward Kristaps Porziņģis on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Here’s a look at the updated rosters of each team following the swap.

Golden State now has $3.5 million in second apron space, according to salary cap analyst Yossi Gozlan. Meanwhile, Atlanta has $4.5 million in luxury tax space (via Gozlan).

The Warriors’ decision to part ways with Kuminga doesn’t come as a complete shock, as his future with the organization was murky prior to the swap with Atlanta.

ESPN’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported that Kuminga demanded a trade from Golden State during the first day he was eligible to be dealt on Jan. 15.

On Jan. 20, Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy addressed Kuminga’s request by telling reporters “in terms of demands, when you make a demand there needs to be demand.”

Kuminga and Golden State were in contract negotiations throughout the 2025 offseason while he remained a restricted free agent, eventually agreeing to a two-year deal worth $48.5 million after failing to find common ground on a long-term pact.

The No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft showed flashes of upside throughout his tenure in Golden State, but was never able to establish a consistent role in head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation as he alternated between the starting lineup and the bench.

After averaging 15.3 points per game on 45.4/30.5/66.8 shooting splits last season, Kuminga has recorded 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds to go along with 2.5 assists on a nightly basis this year. He’s also shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from three-point territory.

As for Porziņģis, he’s averaged 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game on 45.7/36.0/84.0 shooting splits this season.
