Currently riding an impressive seven game win-streak, the Charlotte Hornets made a couple of moves at the trade deadline.

Most notably, the Hornets acquired guards Coby White and Mike Conley from the Chicago Bulls.

Conley had recently been traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Bulls before being traded again.

Following the deadline, the Charlotte Hornets released the news that they would be waiving Conley, giving him the opportunity to sign with another team, excluding the last team that traded him (Bulls).

This move doesn’t come as a surprise, given that Charlotte has plenty of guards on their roster following the move for White. That said, there was an outside chance that Charlotte might keep Conley after waiving on of their veterans (Pat Connaughton) and trading the other (Mason Plumlee).

Additionally, the Hornets also traded point guard Tyus Jones Thursday after acquiring him from the Orlando Magic Wednesday.

Given these moves, Charlotte could be trying to open up a spot in their rotation to make a play at signing Lonzo Ball.

Not only would this reunite Ball with his younger brother LaMelo in Charlotte, it’d also reunite him and White who spent time together as teammates with the Chicago Bulls.

Either way, Hornets fans have plenty to be excited about after navigating past the 2026 trade deadline.

Now as the focus shifts to the rest of the regular season, the Hornets sit one game behind the Bulls for the final spot in the Play-In Tournament.
