While the rest of the Eastern Conference is changing, with 2026 NBA trade deadline passed, the Miami Heat are the only ones staying the same.
On Thursday, a wild week of transactions ended with the 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, and as Bleacher Report notes, Miami was the only team in the East that didn’t make a move this week — a curious strategy for a team stuck in a mediocre cycle.
Entering the day, the Heat were 27-25, seventh in conference and three games behind the No. 6 seed Toronto Raptors (30-22) but also just 3.5 games ahead of the Charlotte Hornets (23-28, 11th in Eastern Conference).
