MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson had a chance to move into a new tax bracket today.

With one year left on the four-year, $105 million deal Jackson Jr. signed back in October of 2021, the Grizzlies know they need to re-sign him, and that price tag could go up soon.

The NBA announced its All-NBA teams, and Jackson needed to make one of those three teams to be eligible to sign a super-max extension with the Grizzlies worth upwards of $350 million.

But instead of being in line to sign the richest deal in NBA history, nearly $70 million a season over five years, Triple J, who is set to make just over $23 million, will have to settle for just under $150 million as he was not named All-NBA despite averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.
