ANCHOR SAVANNAH GUTHRIE’S MOTHER. BUT FIRST, SGA OUT FOR AT LEAST TEN DAYS DUE TO AN ABDOMINAL STRAIN. LET’S GET OVER NOW. LIVE TO OUR SPORTS DIRECTOR, BRYAN KEATING. WITH WHAT EXACTLY THIS MEANS. OF COURSE, A BIG BLOW AND NOT GREAT TIMING. KEATING. THEY GOT A BUNCH OF GUYS OUT NOW. SHAY GILGEOUS ALEXANDER IS HURT, AND HE’S GOING TO BE OUT AT LEAST A COUPLE OF WEEKS, WHICH IS NO FUN TO SAY. SO HERE’S THE BREAKING NEWS. THE INJURY UPDATE. HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW. SGA IS GOING TO BE OUT UNTIL AT LEAST AFTER THE ALL STAR BREAK. HE’LL MISS AT MINIMUM THE NEXT FIVE GAMES. THAT GETS US TO THE ALL STAR BREAK, AND WE DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN AFTER, BUT IT’S CERTAINLY NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR ON A WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. SHAY GILGEOUS ALEXANDER BEING BANGED UP AND NEEDING TO SIT DOWN FOR A LITTLE WHILE. SO THE INJURY IS AN ABDOMINAL STRAIN. I GUESS THE HOPE, GUYS, IS THAT YOU SIT OUT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, TWO, THREE WEEKS, YOU GET BETTER AND YOU JUST YOU MOVE ON DOWN THE ROAD. HERE IS WHAT WE DO KNOW. SGA PLAYED IN 49 OF OKC 51 GAMES THIS SEASON. HE’S BEEN ASKED TO DO A WHOLE BUNCH BECAUSE EVERYBODY ELSE ON THE TEAM SEEMS TO HAVE HAD INJURIES. THUNDER HAVE BEEN BANGED UP ALL SEASON. THEY’VE HAD INJURIES TO JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY ON THE TEAM. SHAY ALEXANDER HAS BEEN THE ONE CONSTANT ON THIS TEAM AND NOW HE’S GOING TO MISS THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. AND YOU JUST HOPE NOT FURTHER THAN THAT. IT’S HAVING A HECK OF A SEASON. OBVIOUSLY AVERAGING MORE THAN 31 POINTS A GAME. HE’S THE REIGNING MVP. THE 31 POINTS A GAME, HIS SECOND BEST IN THE LEAGUE, SHOOTING 39% FROM THREE. IT’S THE BEST OF HIS CAREER IN A LOT OF WAYS. HE’S HAVING A CAREER YEAR. IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING. IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING IN EVERY WAY THEY’RE GOING TO MISS HIM AND THEY’RE GOING TO STRUGGLE TO WIN GAMES WITHOUT HIM. AND THAT STRUGGLE TO WIN GAMES PROBABLY STARTS TONIGHT AS THEY TRY TO WIN AGAINST THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS ON THE ROAD. OKLAHOMA CITY, BY THE WAY, GUYS, WITHOUT ALL FIVE STARTERS TONIGHT, NONE OF THE FIVE STARTERS TEN OF YOUR TOP 15 ARE OUT TONIGHT AGAINST THE SPURS INCLUDING THE REIGNING MVP SHEA GILGEOUS ALEXANDER. BUMMER AND TOUGH TO SAY, BUT LIKE I SAID, CROSS YOUR FINGER
