The potential of the Los Angeles Lakers’ front office following offseason additions is viewed as imposing within the NBA.
“It’s going to be scary,” one rival executive told Dan Woike of The Athletic when asked about the expanded front office Los Angeles is expected to assemble.
Per Woike, the Lakers have an opportunity to “start building the necessary components of a modern front office and reap early benefits” this summer. That includes “significant hires to a wide range of front-office positions” with a format modeled after the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Lakers didn’t make a major splash prior to Thursday’s trade deadline, but sent guard Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for sharpshooter Luke Kennard.
