The Charlotte Hornets made a slew of moves around the trade deadline, adding to one of the league’s hottest teams.

Most notably, the Hornets acquired Coby White from the Chicago Bulls, giving up Collin Sexton and second round draft equity in return.
Additionally, they addressed depth in their frontcourt by adding Xavier Tillman Sr. from the Boston Celtics.
That said, Tillman Sr. wasn’t the only Celtic that the Hornets’ front office had their eyes on.
Friday, the Hornets waived two-way guard KJ Simpson, opening up a two-way roster spot.
After that spot opened, Charlotte acted quickly by agreeing to a two-way deal with Tosan Evbuomwan. Evbuomwan has played for two different G-League teams this season, but was with the Maine Celtics prior to the deal.

In 15 G-League games this season Evbuomwan is averaging 18.8 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks.
Evbuomwan has limited NBA experience, playing in 50 games over three seasons. Earlier this season with the New York Knicks Evbuomwan played in just five games and averaged less than two minutes per contest.
In his 50 career appearances Evbuomwan is averaging 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
The maximum amount of NBA games that two-way players can appear in is 50, allowing the Hornets to use Evbuomwan in every game for the rest of the season if necessary.
Evbuomwan’s first chance to suit up for the Hornets will come Saturday as Charlotte’s eight-game winning streak is on the line against the Atlanta Hawks.
